My retirement is becoming something I have been considering lately. I’m within three years of my retirement goal (age 65). That’s not very far into the future and I am ready for a change. I have been teaching graphic design in higher education for 25 years now and it feels like it is time for a change.
Recently, my design courses I teach have been focusing more and more on the internet, web design, and social media. It is very intriguing. Creative online careers are going crazy – the pandemic helped move that trend forward. What content creators and social influencers are doing on the various platforms is amazing. So much so, that I have spent the last three months investigating and learning as much as I can about all the options that exist with online marketing, social media presence, and digital careers.
This looks fun. I think I’ll give this a go. I am going to learn as much as I can and get something set up and running so I will have a side gig to keep me occupied when I retire. I’ll keep you posted on my progress and let you know what should soon be coming.
