Launching Soon

May and June so far have had nothing but distractions keeping me from my goal to get something going on YouTube for watercolor tutorials and developing digital courses to sell. But, thats just making excuses.

It feels like painfully slow progress, but I am making progress towards knowing what I don’t know. I do know I need to focus on one thing at a time and YouTube is that first hurdle. I need to get some full tutorials shot, edited and posted – good, bad and ugly. I’ll deal with nuance later. I need to start building my audience. That’s my immediate action step right now… post my first videos. I know they will be janky… a lot like my actual classes I’m sure.

I feel like one of those news reporters on their first job reading the local news – you can always tell the newbies. It doesn’t take long until they get the hang of it and they look like pros in short order.

Since the pandemic, I have taught many classes online and Zoom recorded my live class lectures and demos. I haven’t been overly concerned with screen presence, or editing any of the class videos. These video sessions are like raw feeds into my class. I know I’ll need to ramp up my production value on everything I do for YouTube. I hope I can get to that point of being comfortable on screen and looking polished.

I’ll drop a blog post when I drop my first YouTube tutorial.
